DuplexDr Version 1.2: Virtual Serial Port Pairs Utility.

Date: 9 December 2004

Labtam is pleased to announce a new software product named DuplexDr Version 1.2. This is the second major release for the 2004 year.

With DuplexDr, you can create a pair of virtual serial ports (VSP pair) "virtually connected to each other" in your system. A virtual serial port appears to application software as a "standard" MS Window's communications port (virtually identical to an RS-232 port). Data may be written to VSP by applications, and data may be read from VSP as though it were a standard COM port.

Major differences from the 1.1/Release:20040707 version

The following bugs have been fixed

1. Virtual COM ports driver:
- Improved the virtual COM port driver that allows running on multi-processor and Hyperthreading machines now
- some other significant bugs were fixed

Known problems and limitations

1. Un-installation:
- the un-installation procedure does not remove components which were installed in additional (non-first) installation sessions. Such additional components should be removed manually

2. Virtual COM port Driver
- does not work under MS Windows 2003 Server

3. The package is unusable under Win9x/ME.

Single User licenses are at $40.00 USD. Please visit the Software Pricing page for pricing on Multiple Licenses.

The programs associated in this package may send and/or receive broadcast IP requests. Since such packets cannot cross the nearest firewall/gateway/router, please be sure that these IP requests are invisible from outside your network. We assume that such behavior cannot be considered as "Hacking" or "Trojan horse's action".
